Dear Moody College of Business Students,

Much change has been announced by the University this week and I want to assure you that our Moody Business faculty and staff are working diligently to prepare to teach you and operate remotely.

Our faculty are working to make adjustments to their face to face classes and create plans to communicate with you remotely to ensure your continued academic progress.

While there is no clear path as to what may be ahead, we will continue to make modifications to our plans as needed over the coming days and weeks to provide you continuity of your education. We know that these changes create a variety of emotions for you and our college community. If you need help, please ask for it. Reach out to your department, a professor, or fellow student. You may have a question that we have not yet anticipated, or a need we are not fully aware of. We are here to support you and adapt together.

Contact information for your Department or Program offices and our Office of Student Services is available at https://business.louisiana.edu/faculty-staff/faculty-staff-directory. Our faculty and staff directory is available at https://business.louisiana.edu/faculty-staff/faculty-staff-directory.

As previously announced by the University, classes have been canceled for Monday, March 16, and Tuesday, March 17. Beginning Wednesday, March 18, we will be suspending all face-to-face classes and transitioning to remote learning. Online courses are continuing as scheduled.

We are working to determine how best to accommodate those of you who have internships this semester. More information will be shared this week.

  • Advising for Summer and Fall 2020 was scheduled to begin on Monday, March 16. The Moody College will be delaying advising until later in order to allow faculty and staff to prepare for remote delivery and operations. Expect another e-mail from me to announce the opening of advising and the procedure while we are in remote delivery mode.
  • Please check your University email regularly for any messages from your professors or the University. University announcements will be posted at https://louisiana.edu/covid19-updates and on the University’s social media accounts, including Facebook and Twitter.
  • Remote learning and teaching resources are available for students and faculty at https://academicaffairs.louisiana.edu/covid19-academic-affairs.
  • Graduate students can also access specific announcements from the Graduate School at https://gradschool.louisiana.edu/covid19.

I want to thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time. Our highest priority is the well-being of students, faculty, and staff in our Ragin’ Cajuns community.

Sincerely,

Geralyn McClure Franklin, Ph.D.
