Sarah Young has been named the Outstanding Graduate for the Economics and Finance Department in the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration for the Spring 2018 semester. While majoring in Finance and minoring in Economics and International Business, Young has maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.75. Throughout her college career she has received many scholarships including the William A. Brady III Endowed Scholarship, the Gerald Reaux Jr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship, the W. Harmon Hall Memorial Endowed Scholarship and many more. In 2014, she was awarded the Presidential Volunteer Service Award and has been included on the Dean’s List every year since.

In addition to acting as the President of the Financial Management Association National Honor Society, Young also participated in the Study Abroad program where she studied in Paris, France for six weeks. She is currently working on an individual study research paper about women in finance as well as behavioral finance.

After graduation, Young plans to take a year off in order to work, save money, and travel before continuing her education and earning an MBA. She currently is applying to a few graduate schools and is even interviewing with EAE Business School in Barcelona, Spain.

She is the daughter of Denise Richard and Trent Balfantz of Des Allemands, La.
