Nicholas Laborde named Spring 2017 Outstanding MBA Graduate
Fri, 05/05/2017 - 9:26amNicholas Laborde has been chosen for the Outstanding Master’s Graduate Award for the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration.
Laborde was previously chosen as UL Lafayette’s Outstanding Management Graduate in 2015 where he graduated magna cum laude. As an MBA student, he has maintained a 3.75 GPA. During his time at UL Lafayette, he was a founding member and Chapter Chair of the International Game Developers’ Association as well as a student mentor and speaker for AcceleRagin’.
He was an Advisory Board Member for the UL Honors Program as well as the Academy of Interactive Entertainment and the creative nonprofit organization, bckstry.org. He also assisted game developers around the world as a Global Business Development Mentor for Core Labs Accelerator and acted as a co-organizer of the 48-hour game creation event, Acadiana Regional Game Jam. As well as being featured in ABiz and the Daily Advertiser, he was also featured and published in Gamasutra, a gaming industry trade publication.
His future plans include continuing as CEO to expand his company, Raconteur Games, as well as mentoring entrepreneurs and others in the game industry as they transition into the professional world.
Laborde is the son of Elizabeth Battalora of Pineville, La. and John Ed Laborde of Marksville, La.
