The Lafayette Chamber of Commerce was recently selected as the top chamber in the nation. The Chamber of the Year Award was given by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives.

This news comes in the wake of the Lafayette Chamber receiving its re-accreditation. A five-star rating came with the accreditation, the highest rating a chamber can receive. The combination of the two accolades puts the Lafayette chamber as one of the best in the nation.

"That alone puts us at the top one percent of the 7,000 chambers in the United States. Combine that with the fact that we are now national chamber of the year and we're in very elite company," said Chamber President & CEO, Rob Guidry.

Chamber representatives were given the Chamber of the Year Award at a ceremony in Los Angeles on Thursday, August 4, 2011.
