Gradian Health Systems Presentation: The Business of Doing Good

Friday, June 19, 2015 - 11:00am

The B.I. Moody College of Business Administration invites you to join them for their inaugural Burdin Speaker Series event, which bring speakers to the region that discuss vital issues of concern in the area of professional ethics. The first event, Gradian Health Systems: The Business of Doing Good, features keynote speaker Erica Frenkel.

The presentation will take place Friday, June 19, from 11:00am to 12:00pm at the LITE Auditorium on UL Lafayette's campus.

Frenkel is Vice President of Business Strategy of Gradian Health Systems, which equips hospitals around the world to delivery anesthesia safely and reliably. In this role she oversees the company’s internal and external growth strategy.

Prior to Gradian, Erica worked for nearly a decade on global health initiatives in both the public and private sectors. With the Clinton Health Access Initiative in Liberia, she consulted for Liberia’s Ministry of Health on the country’s 10-year national health policy. As advisor to Merck and the Wellcome Trust, Erica provided strategic recommendations for their public-private partnership to increase access to vaccines in the developing world. Earlier in her career, Erica managed the Global Media AIDS Initiative for the Kaiser Family Foundation and served a rural health and sanitation volunteer in Peace Corps El Salvador.

Erica frequently speaks and writes on global health and social entrepreneurship. She holds an MPA in Development Studies from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School and a BA in History from the University of Pennsylvania.

This event is free, open to the public, and made possible by a partnership with the J.J. & Helen Burdin/LEQSF Regents Professorship in Ethics.
