Lafayette City-Parish President Joey Durel with receive the the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration Award at Junior Achievement of Acadiana's Business Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony Wednesday, May 6. Fellow business alum John Petersen of Swamp Pop will be honored for Start Up Business of the Year.

The Business Hall of Fame recognizes the accomplishments of individuals who have made a significant impact on the local economy and community. Laureates are recognized for a lifetime of achievement, and business awards are presented to distinguished individuals for the prior year’s accomplishments.The 19th Annual Business Hall of Fame event will take place Wednesday, May 6 at The Victorian in Broussard, La., beginning at 6p.m. The honorees for 2015 include:

Laureates: Floyd Degueyter of CLM Equipment and Richard Zuschlag of Acadian Companies

Business Person of the Year: Thomas Chance of C&C Technologies

Rising Young Business Leader: Parker Templeton of Iberia Medical Center

The Richard E. Baudoin Jr. Award: Angela Morrison of Lafayette Schools Credit Union

Small Business of the Year: Lowry’s Printing (Betty Lowry & Claire Lowry)

Large Business of the Year: Tony Chachere’s Creole Cuisine (Donald “Buzzy” Chachere)

Start-Up Business of the Year: Swamp Pop (John Petersen & Collin Cormier)

University of Louisiana at Lafayette B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration Award: Mayor Joey Durel
